Senior Hardware Quantum Engineer – Lasers, Optics, Atoms, Trapped Ions, Physics, Munich
A leading customer of mine in Germany is looking for a Senior Quantum Hardware Engineer to work in one of their two state-of-the-art labs.
This business is a pioneering quantum start-up that specializes in developing highly scalable neutral-atom quantum computers, utilizing individual atoms as qubits.
These are exciting times for the business, having raised some impressive funds, they offer the chance to develop groundbreaking quantum systems and software within their talented teams.
Responsibilities:
* Take ownership of a key module in their quantum computer, including imaging systems, tweezer generation, and part of the laser distribution system.
* Integrate and optimize this specific module with the overall system.
* Work closely with software, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams for development and implementation.
Skills:
* Strong experience working as a Hardware Engineer.
* Hands-on experience in setting up and operating laser and optical systems.
* Knowledge in one or two of the following topics would be a big advantage:
* Atom arrays based on optical tweezers
* Rydberg atoms
* Alkaline-earth-metal atoms
* UHV systems for atoms or trapped ions
* Highly stable lasers
* Skills in mechanical and electronics design would be helpful.
