Our mission? Increase availability, reduce TCO, and optimize maintenance through intelligent data utilization. As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you will be part of an agile software development team, playing a key technical role in shaping the Railigent X data lake and its ingestion pipelines. What do you contribute? You will be responsible for the architecture, development and operation of the Railigent X data lake, with a focus on scalable data ingestion solutions for processing vast amounts of IoT data from thousands of trains and tens of thousands of railway infrastructure components. You enhance and maintain a high-performance AWS cloud- and Kubernetes-based data platform, ensuring scalability, security, and availability. You set best practices for platform architecture and software development, ensuring compliance and quality standards across teams. You lead and support our project-driven business with a product- and platform-centric mindset, ensuring seamless integration of data solutions into the Railigent ecosystem. What do you bring along? You have a master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field and several years of experience in Data and Platform Engineering for AWS cloud-based and on-prem workloads. You have deep expertise in data management, data warehousing concepts, and hybrid cloud architectures. You have strong hands-on proficiency with SQL, NoSQL (MongoDB), AWS data-centric services (S3, SNS/SQS, Athena, Glue), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code techniques. You have experience in designing, building, and optimizing big data pipelines (batch and real-time streaming) for IoT data processing and with working in SAFe- or Scrum-based environments. Ideally, you have hands-on knowledge of Kafka and Kubernetes as well as in Data Strategy and Data Governance, particularly in supporting sales, project, and product management teams in large tender bid processes. You are a proactive problem-solver with a "whatever it takes" mindset, a drive for excellence, and a motivation to exceed expectations. You have strong communication and presentation skills, with fluent English and German proficiency. What do we offer you?
