Position Overview
We are seeking a Mid-level Electronics/Mechatronics Engineer who will oversee assembly, guide a small team of technicians, and contribute to embedded system development. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with strong electronics experience, working knowledge of STM32 microcontrollers, and a passion for quality and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Assembly Supervision & Quality Control:
* Manage day-to-day assembly of electronic and mechanical subsystems.
* Ensure proper soldering, wiring, and component placement.
* Develop and maintain clear documentation, checklists, and training materials.
Embedded Systems & Troubleshooting:
* Work with STM32 microcontrollers (STM32F4/H7) using STM32CubeIDE.
* Program, debug, and optimize embedded firmware; collaborate with the software team on system integration.
* Troubleshoot hardware/firmware issues and propose solutions.
Product & Process Improvement (R&D):
* Identify opportunities to enhance existing designs and manufacturing processes.
* Collaborate with external PCB designers and internal teams to streamline product development.
* Stay updated on industry standards and best practices, including future compliance (CE, EMC, etc.).
Team Leadership & Mentoring:
* Oversee and mentor a small team of electronics students and technicians.
* Foster a culture of collaboration, autonomy, and continuous improvement.
* Coordinate with internal stakeholders and check in on major decisions with company leadership.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
* 3+ years of proven, hands-on experience (mid- to senior-level) in assembly, electronics, or embedded systems.
Technical Skills:
* Strong background in electronic assembly, soldering, and wiring practices.
* Proficiency with embedded systems (ideally STM32) for programming and debugging.
* Experience with Fusion 360 (or similar 3D CAD) for mechanical aspects.
* Understanding of sensors and calibration procedures (magnetic measurement experience is a bonus, but not required).
Leadership & Autonomy:
* Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring technicians/engineers.
* Ability to work independently, solve problems proactively, and take responsibility for outcomes.
* Strong communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external freelancers.
Additional Skills (Nice-to-Have):
* Familiarity with Python for scripting or test automation.
* Exposure to regulatory/compliance processes (CE, EMC) or willingness to learn.
