As a Construction Manager (m/f/d) in the Project Engineering department at Covestro, a world-leading provider of high-performance polymer materials and solutions, you will take on a central role. You will lead and execute all construction and installation activities for national and potentially international investment projects through which Covestro expands its production capacities and develops innovative materials for pioneering applications. In this key position, you are responsible for the successful execution and coordination of all activities in the area of Construction Management - from front-end loading through project execution to the handover of the new facilities to operations.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. You are the "CM representative" on site and lead the construction and installation team within your area of responsibility, depending on the respective contract model (EPC, EPCM, etc.)
2. You manage and monitor the performance of external contractors, EPC or EPCM companies, as well as compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards on the construction site
3. In collaboration with experts from the Construction Management team, you create construction and installation-relevant documents such as execution concepts, award strategies, and contracts
4. You are responsible for construction and installation costs, schedule and progress monitoring, as well as the preparation of reports
5. Planning the construction site setup and logistics, as well as evaluating the required CM team, are also part of your responsibilities
6. You support the project manager in all project phases and continuously work on improvements
WHAT YOU OFFER
7. You hold a university degree (Master's/Bachelor's) in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering or a related technical field
8. Your profile is characterized by several years of national and international project experience in Construction Management with various contract models (EPC, EPCM, fixed prices, time and materials)
9. You possess strong leadership and communication skills, are customer-oriented, and can handle ambiguities and conflicts with confidence
10. A sense of responsibility, initiative, and motivation to overcome potential obstacles distinguish you
11. You speak fluent German and English, both written and spoken
12. A certain willingness to travel within Covestro's NRW sites (Leverkusen, Dormagen, Uerdingen) is required
