For our client, an multinational information technology services and consulting company, we are looking for a VIP Supporter/Senior Field Service Engineer (m/w/d) for Bad Homburg. Your role: Supports a client company’s VIP user base by applying exceptional technical and interpersonal skills Provides VIP level support at critical client campus locations. Will be viewed as specialist in given field by the company and will possess a high degree of troubleshooting in addition to exceptional interpersonal skills. Performs activities associated with installing, diagnosing, maintaining and servicing computer-related products, including but not limited to desktop & laptop computers, printers, network devices, standard software, and low-end servers at customer sites, and/or depot locations. May be directed by Help Desk, Service Desk or script using standard methods, techniques and tools. May also apply personal knowledge to resolve product support issues that could not be addressed by service desk. Assignments range in complexity from troubleshooting and repair, to more difficult device repair, including reloading and re-imaging of PC’s/laptops, and installing and optimizing HW/SW networking products. Your tasks: May function as team or site leader providing direction to other technicians Provides support for enterprise storage products Supports Networking products - including Cisco certification requirements Provides support for Payment systems products and core-CMOS products Provides support for software, hardware and networking support for desktops, laptops and servers Provides maintenance and support on legacy products May have project management responsibilities for some projects Supports Core, server products Performs disk replacement on EMC Symm products Installs and maintains PCs and associated software, networks, servers and peripherals Supports network products from operational and maintenance perspectives Performs installs, moves, adds and changes as required Tests and certifies PCs, networks, servers and client approved applications Provides follow-up on problems or escalation. Maintains a high degree of professionalism in actions, demeanor and dress. Ensures customer satisfaction throughout the service delivery transaction. Your skills: Requires a High School degree and several years of hands on technical experience Electronics training equivalent to at least 4 years of technical institutes, polytechnic and/or military technical school with applicable field service and/or other related technical experience High degree of interpersonal skills Demonstrated capability and experience supporting VIP clients A certification Specific Manufacturers certifications as required. i.e. EMC, Dell, Cisco, Microsoft, COMPTIA, and NETWORKPLUS Troubleshooting software and hardware problems Knowledgeable in servers, Microsoft/Linux/Unix applications, network protocol, internetworking, configuration, and possess advanced PC support capability. Ability to test and certify PC, networks, servers and client approved software applications and associated peripherals Knowledge of client specific internal procedures and service delivery requirements. Excellent analytical and client communication skills.
