Join us as a Principal AI Datacenter Research Engineer (m/f/d) Your mission Lead the exploration of how AI workloads such as inference and training impact network traffic in Data Centers. Spearhead innovation in Ethernet and Ultra Ethernet technologies to optimize network performance in AI-driven environments. Monitor and comprehend advancements in Ethernet technologies, analyze standards (e.g. IEEE 802.3, UEC, OIF, MSA), assess their implications and identify opportunities for innovation and strategic advancement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network protocol advancements with hardware development, ensuring cohesive planning and innovation for next-generation solutions Focus on system-level performance optimization, particularly enhancement of bottom-layer encoding and decoding algorithms and protocols, including end-to-end physical layer and data link layer technologies. Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and provide leadership in technical discussions and reviews. Your areas of expertise Master's and/or PhD degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer science or any related areas. Profound knowledge of Ethernet protocols, network architectures and traffic management techniques. Demonstrated deep knowledge of AI learning and inference workflows, including network traffic patterns produced (e.g. burst, bandwidth, latency-sensitive traffic). How these are handled in modern data center network architectures including load balancing, flow control and congestion control mechanisms. In depth knowledge of industry trends of Ethernet technologies and insight into key technologies of next-generation Ethernet. Proficiency in network simulation and modeling tools (e.g. HTsim). Proficiency in IEEE 802.3 standard protocol Contributions to research papers or patents in Ethernet or high-speed communication systems. Excellent intercultural communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders. Full professional proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
