You face challenges like
* creating engineering studies of concept, package, and layout within the vehicle in early development stages and internal in-house projects
* designing components and products according to system targets for craftsmanship, function, cost, efficiency, and weight
* managing parts from initial design to prototype phase and serial production
* creating and being responsible for engineering documentation such as TES’s (Tech. Spec’s), DFMEA’s (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), and DVP’s (Design Verification Plan)
* coordinating testing and validation activities with tier 1 and internally with vehicle validation
* managing EBOM (Engineering Bill of Materials)
* managing and tracking suppliers' activities to successfully complete product development and validation through to series production
* designing CAD models to comply with internal deliverables and supporting tier-1 suppliers when required, collaborating with suppliers during DFM, Moldflow, and tooling design approvals
* verifying and approving final component and product designs prior to release
* communicating with internal interfaces and departments, including data transfer
* respecting project time schedules and coordinating all necessary activities to guarantee milestones are achieved
* supporting vehicle prototype build activities and coordinating product optimization based on testing feedback
* developing the Engineering Statement of Work for lighting devices
* actively participating in the iterative process with Lucid design/studio team to deliver an optimal balance of function, form, and cost
* developing assembly strategies, including guiding, locating, and mounting to the vehicle to meet build objectives
* interpreting CAE simulation from Lucid internal attributes, as well as from tier 1, to integrate necessary product optimizations
