Within the Safety & Cybersecurity department, the Functional Safety Engineer is responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, tracking and reporting of all the activities related to the identification, design, implementation, and validation of The Cubonic vehicles Functional Safety.
* Drive and facilitate the hazard analysis and risk analyses,
* Development and maintenance of functional and technical safety concepts,
* Execution of safety analyses (FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA),
* Specification of Safety Requirements,
* Monitoring, tracking, and reporting of functional safety activities with the different internal stakeholders as well as suppliers and development partners,
* Support of safety-related vehicle tests,
* Documentation of safety cases according to ISO 26262 and relevant safety standards,
* Support in various safety aspects to ensure overall vehicle safety during development, use, and operation,
* Supporting with general product safety, homologation, and cybersecurity topics.
Required Qualifications
* University degree in electrical engineering, computer science or comparable.
* At least 3 years of professional experience.
* Good knowledge of ISO 26262.
* Good knowledge of the E/E and ECU internal architecture.
* Good knowledge of SW and HW development.
* Experience in performing safety analyses and specification of requirements.
* Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and physics is a plus.
* Experience in performing FIT calculation, Hardware metrics and PMHF is a plus.
* Knowledge of electronics in high-voltage environments and high-voltage is a plus.
* Knowledge of cybersecurity (ISO 21434, ECE 155, secure communication and security protocols etc.) is a plus.
* Problem solving ability.
* Strong communication skills and preference for working in a team.
* High attention to safety and having a passion for saving lives.
* Ability to be flexible regarding evolving priorities.
* Effective verbal and written skills to articulate issues with peers and suppliers.
* Excellent organization skills, self-starting and self-motivated.
* Good knowledge of German is a plus.
