KG Organization Grid Technologies Business Unit Grid Solutions Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Experienced Professional A Snapshot of Your Day In our HVDC Hardware Engineering team, we are designing, implementing and verifying the hardware for innovative HVDC applications using lean and agile methods. Our diverse and multinational teams are working closely together with project management, system and equipment engineering as well as with end customers to provide customized solutions based on the latest innovations in HVDC technology. How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Contribute to the energy transition in a highly motivated and international project team
2. Collaborate with Sub Project Manager and Project Engineers, as well as Plant Infrastructure teams
3. Analyze customer specification with focus on the technical requirements on the hardware in view of the variations from our standard Responsible for cost calculation, incl. identification of risks as well as preparation of necessary bidding documents
4. Prepare hardware designs for control & protection panels for high voltage DC transmission (HVDC) systems
5. Control workshops during panel manufacturing process and accept tests including occasional business trips
6. Drive design related topics from early hardware concepts development until manufacturing and customer acceptance
7. Be in charge of continuous risk and opportunity management, contract and claim management as well as resource management together with Sub Project Manager
8. Ensure the delivery of a functional hardware which complies with contractual requirements to the customer
What You Bring
9. University degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on Power Engineering or a comparable qualification
10. Several years of professional experience, ideally in HVDC technology
11. Good knowledge in hardware engineering for control & protection panels for high voltage substations or energy generation or transmission plants
12. Good CAE knowledge, ideally with the tool Engineering Base
13. Ability to actively drive topics and resolve issues as well as solid stakeholder management and communication skills
14. Fluency in spoken and written English, proficiency in German is advantageous
