About the role: As an Embedded Software Engineer at Applied, you'll be instrumental in designing and implementing the core software architecture that powers our cutting-edge vehicle platform technology. You'll be responsible for the entire software lifecycle, from concept and development to integration and validation, ensuring our solutions meet the rigorous demands of our customers in the automotive industry. At Applied, you will: Architect, design, and implement robust, scalable embedded software for software-defined vehicle platforms Integrate automotive-grade software components, including AUTOSAR-compliant modules and third-party vendor solutions, into our framework Develop and optimize automotive communication protocols for reliable and secure data exchange Implement and optimize RTOS applications to meet automotive performance and safety requirements Collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up the complete vehicle platform system Conduct thorough low-level debugging and validation, adhering to automotive industry standards Drive continuous improvement of software development processes and contribute to our product roadmap We're looking for someone who has: 4 years of hands-on experience developing embedded software for complex devices Proven expertise in RTOS and middleware applications Mastery of C and C++ programming, with a focus on clean, efficient, and maintainable code Strong understanding of low-level hardware interactions and debugging techniques A passion for problem-solving and a drive to deliver high-quality software Strong collaborative skills, and a desire to work in a fast paced team environment Nice to have: Ability to communicate seamlessly in both German (A2) and English languages Prior experience in a startup environment, demonstrating adaptability and a can-do attitude Experience with build systems (e.g., Bazel) Prior experience in developing on-vehicle technology Ability to work with safety critical systems with real time constraints and experience with ISO26262 and related standards Benefits and perks Lunch and dinner allowance Fitness (600 USD) and learning stipends (1,000 USD) annually Stock options Don’t meet every single requirement?
