Position Description:

As the Space industry recognizes cyber security as an essential component in current and future ground infrastructure, our clients rely on CGI to provide them with the expertise they need to create a secure environment for their mission-critical infrastructure. In this process CGI helps shaping the future of cyber security solutions for space. To support this mission, we are seeking senior security experts to further strengthen our team and help us deliver some of the most exciting spacecraft control systems in Europe. Based in Darmstadt and Bochum, Germany our international team serves a global client base, providing opportunities for travel and longer assignments both within Germany and overseas.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
As a Cyber Security Engineer (m/f/d), you will be part of our Space cyber security team and bring your experience to leading international and national Space organizations and corporations. The exciting and diverse tasks include one or more of the following, depending on where you feel ‘at home’ and in which area you want to develop yourself:
•Lead a project team of cyber engineers from the project kick-off through successful verification and accreditation of cyber security solutions for our Space clients
•Ensure that cyber security is considered during the system engineering of our clients’ systems
•Development of specifications for the area of secure systems engineering for cyber resilient systems
•Development of concepts for the prevention and defense against threats and attacks through forensic analysis concepts, vulnerability assessment and risk management strategies
•Development of use cases for the detection of threats, vulnerabilities and hacker attacks to make our clients cyber resilient
•Planning, enabling and performing penetration tests regarding the application landscape and IT infrastructure as well as Space assets of our Space clients
•Analysis and assessment of cyber threats including identification and recommendation of cyber security measures and generation of a comprehensive cyber security situation picture
•Advice on the selection, implementation and operation of cyber security solutions
•Supporting our clients on site when suspected IT security incidents, such as hacking or compromising their IT networks with malware
•Support our clients in regards of Governance, risk and compliance and the design, implementation and maintenance of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS)
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
You are a proactive, independent problem solver yet also a great team player who wants to take the next step as Senior Cyber Engineer in Space. You thrive on solving complex tasks in a challenging environment and enjoy supporting your team colleagues. You are always trying to learn and improve your skills and abilities to the benefit of you and the team. You bring in years of experience and qualification as senior engineer who can lead a team in a project and advice our customers.
•University degree in Cyber Security or similar (Bachelor, Master, PhD or equivalent)
•A comparable amount of years of experience without a university degree is also considered
•Solid experience in cyber security e.g. as information security manager, IT security architect, IT security auditor, Cyber Security Engineer or similar
•Excellent understanding and practical use of more than 5 years of security principles, risk management (e.g. ISOx) and engineering methodologies
•Team leading experience
•A certification in ISOx, CISSP, CISM or OSCP is beneficial
•Strong communication skills both written and verbal
•Fluency in English (written / spoken)
•Candidate agrees to apply for security clearance
