Business Area (BA) Markets’ role in Vattenfall is to maximize the value of the overall portfolio by optimizing and dispatching, hedging, and sourcing for Vattenfall's sales and generation volumes. Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Algo Infrastructure
for our office in Hamburg.
Your key responsibilities as Site Reliability Engineer
* Build and manage algo infrastructure: Develop software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications
* Optimize performance: Measure and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability
* Monitor and maintain system reliability: Detect issues, handle failures automatically, and prepare disaster recovery plans
* Automate processes: Create sustainable systems and services through automation
* Collaborate with development teams: Work with developers to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
* Collaborate with business users: Monitor the input channels for incident and support tickets, prepare and communicate planned releases
Qualifications
* Relevant university degree / apprenticeship or corresponding work experience
* Strong system administration experience
* Strong experience with distributed systems and cloud/container technologies (Kubernetes, ideally in Azure)
* Excellent problem-solving abilities, including expertise in root cause analysis
* Broad experience with monitoring and logging tools
* Incident management skills
* Experience in the IT areas of networking and security
* Ideally some programming skills and experience in C#/.NET and/or Python
* Experience in CI/CD and automated deployment (ideally Azure DevOps, Terraform, pipelines)
* Strong experience with Linux environments
* Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
* Team player with strong communication skills
