We are looking for a Control Systems Engineer who is passionate about data center operations and automated sequences to increase efficiency and availability. In this role, you will be providing support and developing mechanisms for the next-generation control system design, sequence development, hardware integration, I/O mapping tables, and engineering specifications. You will apply your creative and critical problem-solving skills to develop solutions at scale. Above all, you will care deeply about the customer and delight in creating simple solutions that solve our customers’ biggest challenges. The ideal candidate will need a broad background in data center or critical environment control systems, IT infrastructure, networking, programming, mechanical facility operations, electrical power monitoring, and demonstrate strong leadership skills. Key job responsibilities Have deep knowledge of critical infrastructure, building operations, mechanical plant strategies, BMS/EPMS programming concepts, control diagrams, industrial HVAC, electrical line-ups, one-line diagrams, and complex environmental and electrical concepts. • Lead and facilitate collaboration with multiple teams, including construction, operation, commissioning, software development and sourcing to deliver for customers • Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital control systems and the ability to test and write modifications in multiple system software languages. • Provide QA/QC oversight of hardware installation, reviewing proposals and programming through the commissioning process • Experience with data center redundancy, mechanical failure strategies, energy and water conservation practices, and data reporting analytics. • Knowledge of operating in high-security critical environments while maximizing productivity. • Innovate new solutions to support team, initiative, and company goals. • Create and maintain specification documents for global projects. • Develop and support mechanisms for mechanical and electrical controls products. • Interact with AWS cloud services and other applications to present, archive, and analyze accumulated data. • Travel of 50% or more may be required to manage and support project deployments as needed. About the team The role is based in Frankfurt, Germany. The team is responsible for the provisioning and configuration of mechanical and electrical control systems. This ensures that data center control systems are deployed and configured on time to meet AWS's capacity commitments.
