Distributed Data Systems plays a crucial role at BMW to provide our stakeholders a robust, scalable, and efficient data backbone. Join us as a Senior Developer for distributed systems based on AWS/Azure, where you will play a key role in architecting, developing and deploying solutions with a global team for data driven solutions. By leveraging cloud technologies and implementing best practices in data governance you would be drive BMW’s digital transformation journey.
What awaits you?
* Designing and maintaining scalable and reliable distributed systems using AWS / AZURE services.
* Working with distributed database systems and SQL, utilizing frameworks like MapReduce and Spark.
* Developing clean, maintainable Python code while adhering to testing best practices.
* Implementation of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues, including data governance and data pipeline management.
What should you bring along?
* Educational Background: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field (BEng/BSc/MSc/PhD preferred).
* Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of work experience with the focus on data driven technologies
* Technical Expertise:
o Experience in distributed systems and cloud architectures, particularly with AWS.
o Strong knowledge of distributed database systems, SQL, and data pipeline management.
o Proficiency in Python programming and software engineering principles.
o Familiarity with CI/CD practices, DevOps methodologies, and data governance.
* Adaptability: Strong motivation to learn and adapt to new topics and technologies and good problems solving skills.
* Intercultural Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to build and work effectively in intercultural teams across different time zones.
* Language Skills: Business-fluent in English; proficiency in German is highly desirable but not mandatory. Apply now!
