The Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences is a leading international research institute of exceptional scientific breadth. With more than 40 research groups and some 1,000 employees from over 50 nations, it is the largest institute of the Max Planck Society.
The research group Molecular Mechanisms of Membrane Trafficking (Dr. Oleksiy Kovtun) at the City Campus invites applications for a position as We are looking to recruit up to two PhD students for exciting projects in cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET) studies of membrane trafficking.
We are a small international team based at Max-Planck-Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences in Göttingen, Germany. We aim to understand how molecular machines select cargo and drive the formation of transport carriers within the endosomal network. In this mission, we primarily rely on cryo-ET and subtomogram averaging to get detailed snapshots of reconstituted and endogenous molecular machines.
