In your role as Engineering Manager (m/f/d), you will shape our customer experience by growing and managing the team, conducting in depth analysis and directly impacting the business. Job Description Our engineering organisation is critical in ensuring Flink delivers the best in class service. The Customer Experience team focuses on enabling customers to manage their profile data effortlessly, from onboarding through their entire journey with Flink, in a delightful, self-serviced, and secure manner. Additionally, we ensure customers can personalize their experience to best suit their needs. We believe in empowering autonomous teams with challenging missions, allowing them to develop solutions that have a strong and measurable impact on both our customers and business. As an Engineering Manager for the Customer team you will: Lead a cross-functional engineering team responsible for customer profile management, authentication, compliance, and preference customization; Make a direct business impact by enhancing customer onboarding, enabling seamless self-service profile management, and ensuring personalized, relevant notifications; Apply pragmatic solutions, find the right tradeoffs and seek to reduce complexity to help teams deliver solutions that meet the needs of the business; Work closely with your Product Manager to ensure actionable and valuable work is defined for the team; Drive external and internal hiring across multiple disciplines, develop our engineering talent into the leaders of the future, establish a feedback culture within the team, manage performance of team members and make sure that we retain our top engineering talent; Translate the product and business vision into a technological strategy and architecture for your team, and then work together to execute this vision; Own the end-to-end delivery of software (you build it, you own it), including team ownership of monitoring and incident management of production issues; Keep product and engineering quality high and continuously identify and resolve technical debt, quality issues, and gaps in engineering practices; Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices and help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices; Create a healthy culture of collaboration and inclusion, lead by example in line with the engineering and company values; Focus on applying best-in-class industry practices to continue to raise the bar on providing developer delight and speed of delivery for the teams. Qualifications You will bring 3 years of experience building customer-facing applications and websites; In Addition, you will have 2 years of experience as an engineering leader mentoring and growing successful teams; A bias towards action, with the ability to make the tradeoffs between delivering outcomes and making things perfect; A strong interest in the business problems we are solving, and empty with our customers; You bring a desire to build a diverse team that wins together and prioritizes success; Significant experience in applying different architecture patterns like microservices, event-driven systems, micro frontends, etc; Adept at developing in one or more common programming languages such as Go, Java, and/or JavaScript; Being a good listener, but can also effectively communicate their perspective; Highly self-driven, professional personality with an aspiration to excel in your role; Capable of taking both a helicopter view of things to get the big picture and also getting into details when it is appropriate to do so; Business fluency in English.
