Position: Electrical Systems Planner for Medium and Low Voltage Applications Location: Heidelberg/ Baden-Württemberg, Germany Work Arrangement: 50% on customer site, 50% remote Introduction: I am currently seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Planner for a prominent player in the data center industry. Our client specializes in delivering innovative and robust electrical infrastructure solutions to a diverse range of clients, including leading technology firms, industrial enterprises, hospitals and key government infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: As an Electrical Systems Planner, you will play a pivotal role in the design and planning of electrical systems for data centers. Your responsibilities will include: Design and Planning of Electrical Systems : Leading the planning of electrical infrastructure throughout all HOAI phases, including: Medium Voltage Systems (up to 36kV) Low Voltage Distribution Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems Backup Power Solutions Power and Lighting Distribution Low Voltage and Weak Current Systems Lightning Protection Systems Preparation of Tender Documentation : Creating detailed bidding documents and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Supplier Selection and Procurement : Evaluating suppliers and participating in the procurement process, including negotiations and contract management. Cost Estimation and Proposal Development : Collaborating in the calculation of project costs and preparing technical and financial proposals for clients. Functional Specification Development : Drafting functional descriptions, commissioning guidelines, and acceptance testing procedures for electrical systems. Project Coordination : Overseeing the integration of design and execution on-site, ensuring alignment between engineering specifications and construction activities. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: Educational Background : A degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Energy Technology or equivalent qualifications, such as a Master Electrician or Electrical Technician. Professional Experience : A minimum of 5 years of experience in the planning and execution of electrical systems in data center or industrial environments. Technical Proficiency : Proficiency in advanced electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Revit). Familiarity with electrical simulation tools (e.g., ETAP, PowerWorld) for load flow and short-circuit analysis. Experience with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) for tracking project milestones and budgets. Regulatory Knowledge : A strong understanding of relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC) and experience applying HOAI regulations in project planning. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical abilities for troubleshooting complex electrical issues and optimizing system performance. Communication and Organizational Skills : Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
