Job Description The Secondary Design Engineer HVDC is responsible for the design and engineering of the Control and other Low Voltage (LV) matter of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) substation projects in the Power System industry sector. This position will work closely with other designers, engineers, and the project managers to ensure compliance with contractual specifications, project schedules, and budget constraints. Key Missions The Secondary Design Engineer HVDC will have the following key missions: Define all equipment and documents necessary to meet customer needs, including Cubicles for Control & Protection and cubicles for Auxiliary Services, LV cables, battery cells, and chargers. Establish basic design, and then detailed drawings in compliance with contractual specifications during the Basic Design/Principle phase, using CAD tools in line with company processes. Establish technical specifications for LV equipment supplied by internal partners and external suppliers. Analyze technical proposals received and participate in technical clarifications with equipment suppliers by supporting the Sourcing department. Establish Bill of Quantities for LV equipment (Request for Procurement) and technical specifications for necessary erection tools Participate in factory acceptance tests and reception of HV equipment in compliance with contractual technical specifications and project time schedules Performance Measurements The performance of the Secondary Design Engineer HVDC will be measured based on: Quality of design and accuracy of technical specifications Efficient management of detailed design using CAD tools Compliance with contractual specifications, project schedules, and budget constraints Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members Ability to analyze technical proposals and make informed decisions Desired Profile The ideal candidate for the Secondary Design Engineer HVDC position should possess the following qualifications and competencies: Graduate from Electrical or Electro-technical school Minimum 2 years of experience in High Voltage (HV) Transmission Substation activities, or other Industrial Domain. Knowledge of electrical installations, including control and protection systems Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team Fluent in English and German, reading / writing. Expertise in Low Voltage (LV) installation, Digital and Conventional Control Systems ability to compare materials to identify deviations from contractual specs and standards Ability to design schematics and cable synoptic using principle diagrams Knowledge of different telecom interfaces for each technology Knowledge of basic electro technique rules, apparent power, and power factors Pro-active, problem-solving mindset and good team player Relevant IT knowledge and experience with secondary design realizations tools Experience minimum of 5 years of experience in High Voltage (HV) Transmission Substation activities, including knowledge of electrical installations, control and protection systems, turnkey projects development, and interfaces.
