THE ROLE & THE TEAM Frontend engineers in Zalando's Customer Care product team build and maintain the customer-facing self-help tools used by 50 million customers across Europe. They are crucial to improving customer satisfaction and operational efficiency by creating intuitive user interfaces that empower customers to resolve issues independently. WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF… A Senior Frontend Engineer in a Customer Care product environment, particularly for a B2C product with a large user base, needs a strong skillset focused on building scalable, performant, and user-friendly web and mobile applications. Key requirements include: Technical Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS, and associated frameworks is essential. Experience with performance optimization, responsive design, and RESTful API integration is crucial. Familiarity with Webpack and other modern frontend development tools is also expected. Scalability and Maintainability: The ideal candidate should have experience building and maintaining high-traffic applications, ideally in a B2C environment. Experience with modular design, reusable components/libraries, and potentially micro-frontends or design systems is highly valuable. User-Centric Approach: A strong focus on user experience is paramount. The engineer should be able to build intuitive and accessible interfaces that cater to a diverse user base. Testing and Deployment: Experience with frontend testing, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development methodologies is necessary for ensuring robust and efficient delivery. Collaboration and Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills are vital, as the engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams. Experience: At least 5 years of experience in frontend development, specifically with the technologies listed above, is a prerequisite for moving forward in the hiring process.
