AWS is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented individual to join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team. This committed group works to drive excellence pertaining to Infrastructure Operations in the Data Center Engineering Operations function with focus on ensuring quality delivery and acceptance of new build data centers from Operations perspective. Primary responsibilities of this role is to represent Infrastructure Operations team through the build lifecycle of a Data Center such as pre-qualification, design reviews, review and finalization of fit-outs, ensuring critical spares, Operations Bill-of-Materials, reviewing commissioning script, ensuring global availability programs (already existing) are triggered at appropriate milestones as well as initiating maintenance contracts in conjunction with TIPMs, Procurement and Construction teams. This role documents Lessons Learnt from each new build project and ensures it is mitigated/not repeated in the future builds. A typical day in the life of DCEO Project Engineer comprises of site walks, review of technical drawings to identify operational concerns and following them up for successful remediation, working with global teams to resolve issues, reporting to the senior Operations leadership on progress and concerns. This role is adept in Data Center design concepts, DC technical infrastructure as well as possesses strong stakeholder management skills. A suitable candidate is a well organized individual and possesses strong written and verbal communications skills. Knowledge of German language and Project Management concepts is preferred. This role works very closely with DC Engineering Operations team as partner and customer to enable DCEO team is supported and guided at each step of the new site launch. Also expected from a DCEO Project Engineer is the ability to manage small-to-medium impacting projects from conception to completion. These projects involve large amounts of independent work as well as collaboration with external support groups including engineering, automation, processing, design, construction, commissioning, GCs, TPMs, procurement, environment and safety.
