Structural Engineer Seismic (m/f/d) - Siemens Energy
For our well-known customer Siemens Energy we are looking for a new team member!
Your Tasks
* You will work in a small team of experts and collaborate in national and international projects. We pay special attention to the ability to work and communicate in a diverse team and in a very good, harmonious working atmosphere
* You will support the Seismic team in Erlangen (Germany) and team members in Mexico and India and independently work on complex tasks on projects and bids worldwide
* You will support our tender projects in customer negotiations and define guarantees to meet customer and legal requirements. For our execution projects you will advise on the implementation of the required measures for the electrical components and supports to fulfill the seismic requirements. For this, you will participate in negotiations and technical clarifications with internal and external suppliers
* You will verify the seismic withstand capabilities of our electrical and electro-mechanical equipment. In case of being required, define concepts for retrofitting or seismic protection or base isolation systems, to improve the seismic performance of our components and solutions for the entire energy business
* You will perform or verify static and dynamic calculations using the finite element method by using the SAP2000 software from CSI Berkeley or ANSYS. You will assist the seismic team in the preparation or review of seismic qualification reports according to international standards like IEEE693 / IEEE1527 / ASCE113/ IEC62271 or country specific standards
* You will assist the team by witnessing or executing shake table testing of electrical components or systems according to IEEE693
* Currently 3 days in the office and 2 days from home office with a certain flexibility
Your Profile
* You have a MEng or MSc in Civil or mechanical engineering
* You have relevant professional experience (at least 3 years) in seismic design or qualification for installations in the field of power generation / transmission or comparable business
* You are experienced in device qualification by FEM
* You are experienced with the application of Modal Response Spectra Analysis and/or linear and nonlinear Time History analysis
* You can speak and write English fluently and you are confident in business, contractual and technical discussions
* You can speak and write German fluently (level B2/C1 according to Gemeinsame Europäische Referenzrahmen (GeR) ) and are willing to further improve your German language skills
* Preferable you have additional language skills and intercultural experience
* You have expertise in the use of the finite element software SAP2000, ETABS and/or ANSYS
* Your profile includes good teamwork, very good analytical and good IT skills
* You have good planning and organizational skills and you work independent, methodically and systematically
