Amazon is seeking Site Process Engineers to work in the EUProcess Engineering (EU PE) team The Site Process Engineer is anonsite position. The EU PE team is a group of operational leadersdriving process stabilization, standardization and continuousimprovement for the EU Customer Fulfilment Network. This team isessential to establish best in class process performance across alldifferent direct and indirect processes, accelerate implementationof technological advancements and to strengthen the technicalacumen and process knowledge for the operational leaders across theFC network. EU PE ensures the operations teams are equipped withthe functional expertise to successfully deliver expected gains fortechnology advances and network wide process improvements. The teamdrives process control and shifting mean performance with theoutcome of minimizing variation between shifts, building andregion, to deliver strong performance. The team works closely withProcess System Engineering (PSE), ACES PM, Central Ops, launchteams, operations engineering and reliability and maintenance (RME)teams to improve the input metrics for each of the process paths byprioritizing and channelling resources. The Site Process Engineerworks alongside with the FC Senior Leadership Team, while keepinghigh collaboration with EU PE functions. This role is responsibleto deploy initiatives, build networking and relationship in the FCand drive compliance for the initiatives within an assignedtimeline. The Site Process Engineer initiates and implements EUwide improvement activities. This role requires the ability todemonstrate ownership for initiatives, understand the initiativesin details, and influence to deliver meaningful results translatingto tangible productivity and efficiency gains in the FC. Key jobresponsibilities • Work on Back to Basics (B2B) initiativesidentifying the top opportunities in the FC in comparison with theother EU FCs. Start from the bottom 50% processes, looking for theinput metrics with the biggest gap to Benchmark and implement theimprovement action plan in close collaboration with the localOperations Management team following the standard improvementtemplates. a. Oversee the FC improvement program and set focus onmost important areas, based on the alignment with the FC SeniorLeadership team. b. Dive deep into the process performance by usingavailable standard reporting or create own data analysis, call outin in the daily dive deep meetings and collect feedback from thelocal team to be able to convert this information into a tangibleimprovement plan, that matters to the FC. c. Review the open ActionPlans on weekly basis, engaging the FC stakeholders to complete thesuggested actions and reach the desired targets. d. Collaboratewith the central PE functions and other Site PEs from the sameregion to clarify any doubt process related and leveraging on theirlevel of expertise. Benchmarking initiatives are highly recommendedto further reduce variation across the FCs. • Work on ContinuousImprovement with the FC a. Drive network best practiceimplementation, leveraging local initiative led with local Ops andshare them to EU PE for the review. Once approved the best practicewill be officially added to all EU Best Practice repository. Thisprocess is fundamental to help the top 50% FCs to reach Best InClass through the Variation Reduction process. b. Strengthen theframework used to capture and scale FC innovation. New ideas andprojects from the FC will flow through a standard process andpresented to ACES process SMEs for the review. c. Ensure bigprojects / ideas from the FC (10M$+ WW saving) are captured in theOperating Plan Q1 (OP1) Project Intake every year. • Own thedeployment of all the EU network initiatives assigned to the FC,making sure that they are executed with the right timeline,reaching compliance. Support the FC to commit on test and pilot forthe EU Projects in order to avoid delays and make sure thatprojects are then deployed and reviewed in all the EU FCs. •Partnership with the FC Ops: a. Join the daily Gemba on the floorwith FC Leadership in order to stay aligned with FC top issues andAssociate feedback. b. Organize the weekly LSC Meeting with the FCLeadership Team updating the Team on EU Variation Reduction, EUProjects rolled out in the FC, FC Best practices shared at EU leveland FC local initiatives eligible for test or pilot. c. Support theSite Leader and the FC Senior Management Team creating a strongrelationship with them, which allows the Site PE to gain theirtrust and buy-in for all the initiatives. Beside standard task, SPEcan support Site Leader and Senior Ops on process related ad hoctasks from the FC accounting for less than 10% of the working time.• Be ready to support or lead EU Projects to expand the initialscope and coordinate more than one FC. This opportunity is reallyimportant to improve project management skills and to deal withexternal stakeholders. • During Q4 you will be deployed to the sitemanagement operational team, based on the need of the building. •Ability to travel as needed within your area of responsibility.Domestic and regional travel estimate average: 0-10%.
