Job Description NETWORK SERVICE SOLUTION ENGINEERING In this internship, you’ll assist in designing, engineering, deploying and maintaining on-premises based solutions in collaboration with our stakeholders and engineering teams. As part of our team, you will work closely with our experienced network architects and network operations partner and have the chance to learn and apply your skills in a professional setting. PROJECT OPPORTUNITIES During the internship, you'll have the opportunity to participate in projects where we cover the entire lifecycle of on-premises network projects, from idea to production. Areas which have our attention in the coming months: Automation (Firewall policy adjustments, switchport configuration rollout) Governance/Compliance support (firewall rules compliance checks, switch configuration compliance) Visibility / Observability (Reporting, Monitoring) Cleanup of Datacenter/Housing CROSS-FUNCTIONAL NETWORK ENABLEMENT TEAM This role is part of a self-organized IT network services team within Red Bull Media House’s IT department. You'll become part of a team which favors a culture of appreciation and respect, where it is very much appreciated to confirm hypothesis, learn from failures, learn new skills and improve as an engineer as well as human being. Qualifications Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., UDP/TCP/IP, DNS) Basic understanding of switching, routing and firewalling Fluent in English; German is a plus but not required. Currently studiying with a focus on Information technologies. Familiar with automation (programming languages, scripting) Ability and courage to challenge the status quo as well as the willingness to investigate new technologies Strong interest in networking principles (switching, routing, overlay architectures like VXLAN, BGP EVPN) and other protocols like DHCP, DNS, TLS and HTTP/S) Strong interest to get to know video transport protocols such as RTP, SRT and HLS and uncompressed video and audio over IP (SMPTE 2110, AES67/DANTE) Passionate to learn about hybrid network architectures connecting on-premises data centers and IaaS/public cloud services.
