Could you be the full-time Converter Development Engineer (f/m/d) in Mannheim we’re looking for?
Your Future Role:
In Mannheim, over 1000 colleagues from 36 different countries work together to develop locomotives, as well as signal and propulsion technology for vehicles that are deployed both regionally and worldwide. Our product line Rolling Stock & Components offers products from the broadest portfolio in the rail industry. Our innovation focus is on green and smart solutions, including emission-free propulsion systems such as batteries and hydrogen. You’ll report to Daniel Oellingrath and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.
We’ll look for you to:
• Independent execute of design tasks for traction and green traction equipment in compliance with the state of the art and the specified target costs.
• Develop concepts and support of prototype production.
• Documentation of equipment, including manufacturing documentation ( maintenance instructions and product descriptions) creation.
• Configuration management for traction and green traction products and sub-components.
• Collaboration in international coordination teams for propulsion and battery components
• Definition and implementation of Design to Cost (DtC) and Design for Manufacturing (DfM)
All About You

• Engineering degree or equivalent in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering
• Use of CAD-software tool ( CATIA V5)
• Use of PLM-software tool ( PLM4A, PDM)
• Open-minded to work in an international diverse team
• Sense of urgency / priority
• Business fluent in German and English is mandatory, complex documents written independently.
• Complex processes should be described in a simple and comprehensible way.
