Hauptaufgaben As a Command Electrical Engineer Advisor and coordinator on electrical discipline participates in the planning, directing, managing and controlling the electrical engineering program for the 2nd Theater Signal Brigade. Exercises project management responsibilities relative the planning and execution phases of construction, new installation, modification and/or rehabilitation of telecommunication facilities such as power and light distribution systems, building configuration, site lay-out, air conditioning plans, and equipment locations. Directs the application of complex test, monitoring, diag-nostic equipment (TMDE) throughout Europe in order to obtain a firm engineering/mathematical basis for the solution of complex power problems. Determines requirements, prepares documentation, and submits instructions to US Military Construction Organizations for use in the design of facilities. Evaluates adequacy of equipment and facilities. Reviews construction cost estimates, plans and specifications prepared by construction agency or communications agency contractors for conformance to criteria and contract requirements. Uses data obtained from the construction agency, from communications agency contractors, and from periodic site visits to maintain up-to- date progress schedules for 2nd Theater Signal Brigade on the electrical power (primary and backup) and cooling portions of telecommunication site projects. Monitors construction work to ensure that scheduled milestones are met and that construction will satisfy 2d Theater Signal Brigade requirements. Gives advice and guidance on implementation of programs and resolution of electrical power problems throughout the AOR, including maintenance and repair/replacement of emergency backup power systems. Attends meetings and conferences relating to electrical engineering matter to provide staff assistance as warranted.
