Area 21 was founded in May of 2022 by the Elmos Semiconductor SE. The initial team was build up with Elmos software experts in October 2022. Area 21 has employees with many years of experience in managing, designing and testing software to enhance functionality of Elmos ICs. The main focus is on building embedded software for the automotive industry in close cooperation with the Elmos hardware development.
Your job as Software Development Engineer Embedded Software
Embedded software development at Area 21 Software GmbH provides a highly specialized and unique perspective on software for integrated circuits. Our low-level software powers Elmos ICs for automotive and industrial applications that pose peculiar challenges, but also offer fascinating opportunities at and insights into HW/SW-CoDesign. As a member of our communication stacks team, your task is to develop, maintain and help deploy software for Elmos communication IP (e.g. CAN, LIN or DSi3), which is deployed to a wide variety of ASICs and ASSPs across all product segments.
You´re interested in
* Conducting requirement elicitation, work planning and effort estimations, requirement analysis and architecture design for software components and/or entire applications
* Deriving and specifying the details design, test-driven implementation and documentation of software and software components
* Specifying and conducting software testing activities in all stages of software engineering, including compliance testing
* Supporting our business lines, hardware and software developers in diagnosing, using or integrating communication stacks in their respective applications
Your qualities are
* Bachelors, Masters or equivalent degree in Computer Sciences or in a comparable relevant
MINT/STEM field
* Confident understanding of object-oriented principles, requirement analysis, software design and test-driven development using UML and the comprehensive understanding of the C programming language
* Prior experience in developing communication stacks in proximity to ARM Cortex-M hardware or comparable embedded architectures, preferably in conjunction with automotive bus systems (focus LIN/CAN/FR)
* Experience and methodological knowledge in software development in regulated environments, particularly relating to Automotive SPICE, ISO 26262, ISO 21434 and agile practices & frameworks
