In a global team, you design and optimize all aerodynamic components of turbocharger turbines by means of commercial and internal numerical tools. For this purpose, you are in charge of the complete aero development workflow including final evaluation of hardware tests. You have a basic understanding of turbine/engine system performance. You collaborate closely with other departments, customers, and external partners. You are involved in the continuous development and improvement of various internal methods and tools needed for turbine design and simulation processes. Within the turbine team you are in charge to develop the aero portfolio of a dedicated turbine technology.
Roles & Responsibilities:
– Aerodynamic design of turbocharger components
– Simulation of turbine flow
– Generation of turbine maps for engine process simulation
– Development and improvement of 1D and 3D simulation processes and methods
– Collaboration with external partners and research institutes
– Support of internal and external customers for improving turbine performance
– Presentation of results to internal & external customers
Your Profile:
– PhD / Master mechanical engineering or comparable qualification
– Academic studies with focus on turbomachinery / aerodynamics
– Work experience or PhD thesis in the field of turbomachinery design
– Good understanding of the combustion engine, experience in engine simulation
– Skills in using design- and CFD-software, e.g. ANSYS
– Strong analytical skills and conscientious, structured way of working
– Experience in contact with customers and suppliers
– Excellent written and verbal German and English communication skills
