Are you ready to save the planet? We will help prevent a climate crisis by freeing the world from fossil fuels. Our breakthrough direct air capture technology captures CO2 from the atmosphere and produces hydrogen in parallel. The clock is ticking. What are you waiting for? Our goals are ambitious. We need people who are inspired and motivated to turn these aspirations into reality; to grow and develop with us. At Greenlyte Carbon Technologies, you will lead our Process Engineering Team to rapidly iterate and optimize our Direct Air Capture (DAC) process - delivering a scalable, efficient, and cost-effective system for industrial deployment. Your role will be both strategic and hands-on: you’ll create a structured framework for fast process design iterations while improving the DAC process. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, performance, and regulatory compliance of our technology. How you'll contribute Deliver a scalable and efficient process framework Define and implement a structured system for process requirements and specifications, ensuring rapid iteration and traceability. Drive the acceleration of process improvements, reducing development time and increasing efficiency. Ensure the seamless integration of new process iterations into our system, maintaining high operational standards. Optimize and industrialize our DAC process Improve core process specifications to enhance energy efficiency, capture rates, and reliability. Reduce process inefficiencies through data-driven decision-making and structured problem-solving. Lead machinery and plant design reviews to ensure all components contribute to a robust, scalable system. Guide the team in critical technologies such as liquid-solid separation, increasing separation efficiency and reducing operational costs. Ensure compliance, safety, and operational excellence Guarantee that all process specifications meet regulatory and safety standards, enabling smooth certification and permitting. Lead systematic root-cause analysis to eliminate bottlenecks, reduce downtime, and improve overall process stability. Your first 12 months in the role: expectations and deliverables Month 0-3 Gain a clear understanding of our team, technology, and process Create a structured framework for process review and documentation, ensuring clear traceability and efficient iteration. Assess and refine machinery & plant design to align with process specifications and future scalability. Provide technical guidance to your team on key technologies (e.g., liquid-solid separation), ensuring optimized implementation in the DAC process. Months 3-6 Improve and refine our DAC process—enhancing capture efficiency, energy use, and overall system performance. Redefine process specifications to create a robust foundation for scaling up operations. Lead systematic root-cause analysis with process and test engineering, identifying bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions to improve process stability and efficiency. Months 6-12 Ensure all process specifications comply with national regulations and safety standards, securing a smooth path for certification and permitting. Finalize an optimized DAC process blueprint that meets operational, regulatory, and scalability requirements. Develop a strategy for long-term process improvements to ensure Greenlyte’s DAC technology remains cutting-edge and industry-ready. About you ✔ Educational Background: You hold a degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Process Engineering (or a related field). ✔ Precision & Attention to Detail: You have a diligent and detail-oriented approach, ensuring accuracy in process design, documentation, and compliance. ✔ Strong Organizational Skills: You are structured and methodical, with the ability to manage complex tasks efficiently - ideally with first experience in project management. ✔ Problem-Solving Mindset: You excel at analyzing and troubleshooting process inefficiencies, using data-driven approaches to drive improvements. Bonus ✔ Experience in conducting HAZOP analyses or working in regulatory environments relevant to this role (e.g., Machinery Directive, safety compliance). What we offer 30 days vacation plus public holidays to ensure you also have the down time needed to rest and recharge The possibility to grow and shape your role Working with founders who understand - and invest time in - the importance of building a healthy and sustainable organization Open and transparent communication on company development Noteworthy points ❌ This role cannot be done fully remotely. We require someone who lives within commuting distance to Essen or is open to relocating (we offer relocation support). Ready to make an impact? If this sounds like the challenge you’ve been looking for, apply now and send us your CV We look forward to hearing from you. About us GCT was founded in September 2022 with the ambition to develop a low-cost, robust Direct Air Capture technology that captures CO2 at world-leading energy rates, whilst supplying hydrogen as a by-product. The company’s technology is based on 15 years of research and has been proven at various scales. Since its founding, the company raised 20-million Euros in funding from leading venture capitalists and renowned business angels.
