What’s the job about?
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of developing next-gen optical communication systems for satellites. Think designing advanced payloads, refining system performance, and seeing your work come to life during integration and testing. You’ll work closely with some of the best in the business, collaborating across disciplines to deliver groundbreaking solutions.
A typical day might include:
1. Designing and fine-tuning optical communication systems for satellites.
2. Defining technical requirements and working through system trade-offs.
3. Running simulations and performance analyses to ensure everything works flawlessly.
4. Overseeing integration and testing, making sure the system’s ready for action.
5. Teaming up with partners and suppliers to hit major milestones.
What you’ll bring to the table:
1. A degree in optical engineering, photonics, aerospace, or something similar.
2. Hands-on experience with optical or laser communication systems (bonus points if it’s for space).
3. Skills in designing, testing, and validating optical systems.
4. Knowledge of free-space optics, satellite subsystems, or ground station tech is a big plus.
5. English fluency is a must, and German is great if you’ve got it.
