As an Application Engineer - Motorsport (all genders), you bring high-performance battery technology to the fast-paced world of racing. You are the crucial link between cutting-edge engineering and the demands of top-tier motorsport, ensuring that battery systems deliver peak performance when it matters most. From concept to checkered flag, you drive innovation, collaborate with world-class teams, and push the limits of what’s possible in high-performance energy solutions. Responsibilities: Act as the primary technical liaison for motorsport customers, guiding battery system development from concept through SOP. Lead technical discussions and provide engineering support tailored to high-performance motorsport applications, ensuring seamless communication between internal teams and customers. Define and refine battery system concepts in collaboration with global engineering teams, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and weight efficiency. Oversee the integration of battery cells, validation, mechanical design, and thermal management into motorsport applications. Support Motorsport and Racing Programs by developing, testing and optimizing battery systems for extreme performance conditions. Plan and supervise battery system validation and testing, analyzing performance data to ensure compliance with motorsport and automotive standards. Track development progress, ensuring milestones and technical objectives are met within motorsport’s fast-paced development cycles. Assist in business development efforts by contributing technical expertise to new project acquisitions and proposals, particularly in motorsport-related projects. Education & Experience: Degree in electrochemical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field 3 years of experience in automotive engineering (motorsport experience is a strong plus). Expertise in battery systems, hybrid powertrains, or HEV technology is highly desirable. Familiarity with battery validation, mechanical design, thermal management, and system integration in high-performance environments. Strong problem-solving skills and experience leading technical investigations in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Deep understanding of battery technology and its application in motorsport and high-performance vehicles. Knowledge of program management, quality assurance, and manufacturing operations in automotive or motorsport settings. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into customer-focused solutions and support business development initiatives. Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage technical requirements in fast-moving motorsport projects. Creative, adaptable, and self-driven, capable of taking full ownership of projects with minimal oversight. Comfortable working in a high-pressure, performance-driven environment with tight development cycles. Excellent English language skills, German is a plus.
