Join Mimacom as a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer and let's create something amazing together What you’ll be doing: As a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer (m/f/d) you will enable multiple development teams to deliver valuable high-value features in no time. You will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-native architectures while ensuring security, scalability, and cost efficiency. Your key responsibilities include: Cloud Architecture & Automation : Define and implement scalable, high-performance cloud architectures, balancing quality, security, and cost. Drive automation-first approaches for infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and operational tasks using Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) and CI/CD best practices. Cloud Transformation & Strategy : G uide our customers in design ing and architect ing cloud platforms & solutions using AWS, Azure, GCP, STACKIT, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Kubermatic, Docker, Kafka, ELK, HashiCorp tools, etc. Lead and execute cloud transformation journeys, enabling organizations to fully leverage cloud-native capabilities while ensuring cost efficiency and operational resilience. Cloud Platforms : Design, build, and evolve cloud platforms from initial Proof of Concept (PoC) to full-scale production, supporting high-traffic workloads and hundreds of teams. Enable self-service capabilities for development teams, ensuring platforms are secure, resilient, and cost-effective. Coach & Mentor : Mentor and empower fellow cloud engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing, innovation, and continuous improvement. Drive DevOps and platform engineering best practices, ensuring teams can deliver efficiently and reliably. Technical Leadership : Define cloud-native strategies that align with customer needs and industry trends. Evaluate and adopt emerging cloud technologies, ensuring best-in-class tools, platforms, and methodologies for cloud-native application delivery. Shape and evangelize best practices for cloud adoption, security, and scalability across the organization. What you’ll need: Do y ou love to work in international and cross-functional teams? Do y ou have an analytical mindset helping you debug complex distributed applications? Amazing, here’s what we’re looking for: 3 years of experience with AWS or Azure and a deep understanding of Kubernetes core concepts, with proven production experience in container platforms and their ecosystems. Strong grasp of microservices, cloud-native architecture, and Java runtime environments (you won’t be coding Java, but you will be running and optimizing Java applications). Hands-on mentality with an ownership mindset to drive teams toward long-term operational excellence in the cloud. Strong communication and facilitation skills to align stakeholders, effectively present ideas, and drive cloud adoption, combined with the ability to translate technical solutions into business value and support clients in making strategic cloud decisions. Background in platform teams, enabling infrastructure and automation for engineering teams. Experience with TCO calculations, IT roadmapping, and project estimation to support business-driven cloud strategies. Bonus : Deep understanding of cloud-native security principles. Experience launching production systems in Chinese cloud regions. Hands-on experience with specific cloud platforms such as Cloud Foundry, STACKIT, Kubermatic, or VMware Tanzu.
