JOB SUMMARY
Performs administrative and office support activities for the Social Services department. Duties include fielding telephone calls, receiving and directing visitors, word processing, creating spreadsheets, presentations, ICWA file upkeep, transportation, coordinating appointments and visitations, processing time sheets, responsible for keeping accurate and timely childcare records, assist with the planning of events, and all other duties. Extensive software skills required, as well as internet research abilities and strong communication skills.
Essential Duties:
1. Greet clients and point them into the right direction, answer inquiries, and create a welcoming environment.
2. Processes and documents incoming calls; screens and takes messages as necessary.
3. Process all incoming applications.
4. Creates record keeping systems, Maintain department calendar and schedule accordingly.
5. Create informational flyers and pamphlets.
6. Conduct research of various resources, ICWA law matters Social Services related matters.
7. Maintains and order office supplies.
8. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing professional publications.
9. Maintain accurate and confidential case files, and records in an up-to-date order.
10. Must be able to obtain knowledge of available Tribal resources; must be able to refer clients accurately and clearly to such needed resources.
11. Maintain extremely high professional standards in all matters and strict department security, confidentiality, and quality.
12. Open and record incoming departmental mail.
13. Provide transportation when needed.
14. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
15. All other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
Experience
1. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
2. High degree of attention to detail.
3. Data entry experience.
4. Working knowledge of general office equipment.
5. Ability to work under minimal supervision.
6. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
7. Must be familiar with Mountain Area.
8. Will be responsible for driving vehicles and maintain safe driving.
9. Valid California driver license with clean DMV printout.
10. Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Familiarity with the Tribe’s Constitution, laws, and culture is preferred, but not required.
2. Ability to work in a high-performance, fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
3. Exceptional interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
4. Adept at multi-tasking, have unquestionable integrity, with a commitment to accuracy.
5. Organized with unfailing attention to detail and outstanding project management skills.

7. Ability to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
8. Must operate with and maintain confidentiality.

PRCI Tribal Preference:
In accordance with applicable Tribal Law, and Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the PRCI Administration shall give preference in hiring, promotion, transfer, and lay-off to enrolled members of the Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians. To qualify for this preference, applicants must submit verification of enrollment in the Tribe. Preference means that Tribal Members who are equally qualified as non-tribal members will be hired. In addition, on the Human Resources Interview rubric that allows for a total of 75 points during interviews, Tribal members will be awarded an additional 7.5 points (10% of allotted points) counted in the overall tally. Tribal members who are not Chukchansi will receive Indian preference by awarding five additional points (6.7% of the total allotted points).
