Renewables Certification (RC) belongs to business area Energy Systems (ES) with more than 4000 people globally. RC has the global responsibility for Type Certification (TC), Component Certification (CC) and Project Certification (PC) for Renewables within ES. Currently RC consists of 300+ experts with locations in Beijing, Boston, Copenhagen, Dresden, Esbjerg, Hamburg, Houston, Høvik, London, Pusan, Shanghai, Taipei and Tokyo.
RC is the global market leader in the Renewables Certification market and are involved in 80% of Project Certification for offshore wind parks including offshore substations in the world.
The Project Certification department within RC is seeking a Materials and Manufacturing Specialist for Steel Support Structures, to join our team in Germany or Denmark. Project Certification delivers services related to certification and verification primarily for Offshore Wind Farms, transformer stations, and onshore support structures for Wind turbines as well as services including floating structures and other novel technologies via technology qualification as well as onshore towers. We provide this as a global service and cover all phases in the certification process from review of early designs to design verification, fabrication surveillance, commissioning, and periodic inspection of installations in operation as well as project management.
What You'll Do
1. Review and verify fabricator´s QAQC documentation,. welding, coating and NDT procedures related to fabrication of steel structures for wind turbines towers, fixed foundation structures, offshore substations or floating wind farms.
2. Review and verify material and manufacturing specifications as well as corrosion protection specifications and design documentation as a part of the design evaluation. Work closely with the team that focuses on primary and secondary steel design.
3. Perform technical audits, Shop Approvals and regular follow-up shop inspections at welding workshops in Germany, Denmark and other European countries.
4. Occasional travel to audits globally.
5. Review and evaluation of non-conformities occurring during construction.
6. Contribute to the work of a multidisciplinary team engaged in project certification activities in different disciplines and coordinate inspection activities with local surveyors within DNV´s global network.
7. Technical Lead / Package Manager for fabrication phase of offshore wind farm projects in relevant markets worldwide (particularly US, Taiwan and European countries).
