What does AWS Managed Operations do? The AWS Managed Operations (MO) is a part of the UC organization. AWS (MO) was created with the objective to reduce operational load and toil through operations automation and best practices along with long-term engineering projects, while operating Utility Computing (UC)-owned services in Sovereign, GovCloud, and all but two commercial regions and local zones (IAD and one standard footprint commercial region). Our mission’s immediate focus is operating AWS’ first Sovereign partition product, the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), at launch in 2025. Our customers require that a dedicated set of EU residents serve as operators. Managed Operations fulfills that promise, building in accountability and transparency mechanisms, with a focus on maintaining customer experience. Public facing communication regarding ESC : https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/in-the-works-aws-european-sovereign-cloud/ We are building a new best-in-class engineering and operations team that will own the day-to-day operations for AWS Regions; improving the availability, reliability, latency, performance and efficiency to operate AWS regions. Amazon is looking for a highly motivated Systems Engineer who help maintain AWS’ software systems. We need engineers who enjoy constantly learning and diving deep into the wide range of systems and technologies that make up one of the world’s largest cloud providers.
