Job Description: Job Title: IT Network Engineer (m/f/d) Location: Viernheim, Germany Essential Duties and Responsibilities Discuss business requirements and underlying computer network that is used to support the business functions. Analyze current network infrastructure, traffic pattern, network utilization, performance, and security vulnerability. Design best-practice corporate infrastructure and datacenter to meet needs and regulatory compliance. Lead a team to implement the proposed solutions and oversee the project. Troubleshoot advanced routing and switching problems revolving around corporate Local Area Network, Wide Area Network, and various networking technologies (eg. routing, switching, security, wireless, IP telephony etc.). Configure and support wide range of Cisco networking product families. Document global network topology, traffic flows and all network engineering processes May be asked to participate in enterprise initiatives, special projects and other duties as assigned. Provide user training and support to ensure efficient use of IT Infrastructure systems. Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure a high level of service delivery. Monitor IT systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance. Participate in IT projects as required. Local engagement on IT relevant requests. Education and Experience A bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience in a similar IT support role. Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting network issues Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks Certifications in ITIL. Experience with supporting a Laboratory or healthcare environment. Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficiency in English; German or French is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues. Experience with IT support and incident management. Knowledge of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL). Familiarity with common IT systems and software (e.g., Windows OS, MS Office, networking fundamentals). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Customer-focused with a commitment to providing high-quality support. Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
